COMPANY

"Their bodies are instruments of profound drama. Trained to deliver emotion through intricate yet beautiful movements and choreography. Precision. Grace. Versatility. That is where their talent lies."

Our mission and Purpose at THE POINTE! Studio of Dance is to promote a program of superior dance instruction and training people of all ages in a variety of dance forms at the highest professional level. The varied backgrounds of our staff, as well as extensive exposure to guest artist and choreographers allow our students to experience a variety of dance styles from classical ballet, hip-hop to postmodern. Exceptionally high levels of performance opportunities that we offer further develop the student’s versatility. In 2006, Gina Tate decided to create a Company of dancers from the studio that embodied all of the traits of The Pointe’s mission and purpose and begin to further enhance their technique as they showed signs of promise and the spirit of dance.  Our students perform in a broad repertory of dance and fully mounted productions including “THE FANTASY AND ADVENTURES OF OZ”, an all dance adaptation of “THE WIZ”, “Cindy and the Glass Slipper”, a dance adaptation of “Cinderella” and "It's A Hard Knock Life", a dance adaptation of Annie.  The company’s season also features community service events, Dancer’s Against Cancer benefit, High Tea Etiquette events, and First Fridays in Greensboro performing at The International Civil Rights Museum.  These students would not only excel here at The Pointe! but would also refine their dance abilities at prestigious dance institutes such as Alvin Ailey, Dance Theater of Harlem, Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Charlotte Ballet, and North Carolina School of the Arts. These students show dedication and a love for dance, which shows through their movement in all performances as well as their ability to give back to their community.
