Becoming one of the inaugural Carolina “TopCats” was one of the many highlights of Gina’s life; only 37 out of 600 women were offered a position and the chance to perform in front of millions for the “Carolina Panthers” Professional Football Team. While cheering, Gina got married and remained on the team for two years before moving to Greensboro. Gina finished up her schooling at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and included African dance, Brazilian and ballroom dancing to her list of techniques.
In 2006, Gina followed her dream and opened up her own dance studio, THE POINTE! Studio of Dance. THE POINTE! has now been in existence for over 10 years teaching dancers from 2 years to 72! The studio is mainly known for its technique and also for its all dance productions of “THE WIZ”, which headed into its fourth year in 2013. The studio also made its debut in an all dance version of “Cindy and the Glass Slipper”, a tribute to the late great Whitney Houston in summer 2012. The Pointe is also performing it's second year of "Its A Hard Knock Life" a dance adaptation of "ANNIE" which was excepted into the National Black Theatre Festival 2015. THE POINTE! continues to choreograph and train THE POINTE! Company, college dance teams, schools and dance groups for Television. THE POINTE! also produces dancers who have received positions from The Alvin Ailey school of Dance and Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York and North Carolina School of the Performing Arts in Winston Salem. Her dreams and passions flow through her students which they carry wherever their own passions take them. Gina continues to focus on God, her family and the studio which will continue to be priorities in her life.
