Our HISTORY

TPCTC History
Gina Tate, Executive Director and Entrepreneur

Gina Tate is originally born and raised in Akron Ohio where she attended The University of Akron, majoring in Communications and Dance.  Gina continued her training after moving to North Carolina where she danced professionally for the Carolina Panther "Top Cats" in Charlotte as an inaugural member as well as a host of choreographers and famous artists.

From 2006- 2020, Gina owned and operated THE POINTE! Studio of Dance in Greensboro NC, which is known for their family oriented atmosphere, professional work ethics and excellent technique. THE POINTE! Company and Technique Conservatory is a NEW venture started in 2020, which has been birthed from her experience with THE POINTE! Studio of Dance.  TPCTC is a more professional geared program and atmosphere catering towards those who wish to perform and have a true passion and ability for the arts now and in their futures.

TPCTC is a performance company in all areas of the arts including dance, vocals and the dramatics.  TPCTC also creates their very own unique staged productions for Company, to get a professional experience of being a part of a live main staged, fully produced production.

TPCTC has always been a safe place for performers of all walks of life to express and grow in their talents and that will only happen from opportunity.  We cater to all performers but particularly for those who are not considered for lead or major roles only because they do not fit the "color" or 'look" of the main character.  TPCTC have prided themselves in giving deserved opportunities for those individuals who deserve leads and major roles based on talent.  Gina, with the help of Robin T. Rich McGhie, (professional actress/director/teacher) decided to create their own fully mounted, produced, directed and choreographed all dance adaptations to give deserving individuals fair opportunities. They believe that those who deserve the roles should get them based on skill level, training and never just on ethnicity.  Their belief is that a more colorful canvas is more interesting and unique!

Gina Tate is also the owner of "A Unique Pointe! of View", her newest venture in home, office and business decor.  She established this second business in 2019 and hopes to continue to grow it and create unique spaces for those looking for an "Uplift" from their old space that will complement their unique style.

In her personal life, Gina is married to her husband Jamie Tate and has two super talented sons, Avilon and Aviel.  She continues to support their dreams, grow both her business and serve God who is the ultimate giver who grants permission for her gifts, talents, creativity and her continued success as an artist and in life!
