Testimonials:
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity for my daughter to dance at the Pointe!. The instructors are amazing, professional, and caring. While at the studio, she has gained self-confidence and learned valuable qualities that she will need throughout life, including, responsibility, hard work, teamwork, accountability, and dedication. The Pointe! has become more than a studio, it's more like family.” Crystal Moore
"Nadia has been afforded so many opportunities and experiences since joining The Pointe! She has grown as a dancer and a performer both technically and professionally. The Pointe! is all about technique. They’re interested in developing the entire repertoire and diversity of the dancer’s abilities. Also, the caliber of expertise brought in from the outside for Masterclass Workshops is second to none." Wanda Baker-Attmore
"Couple of things I learned from the pointe is how they continuously pushed me to be the best dancer that I could be. One thing that really touched my heart is that a parent told me that their child started doing ballet again at the pointe once she saw me as Glinda the Good witch in the Wiz. I thought that was the cutest thing ever and it made me want to perform for an audience even more so I can inspire other young dancers to pursue their dreams! " Chanelle Turnbull
"I have written this 5 times already. I can’t control my emotions when I think about what The Pointe! Studio of Dance means to me and my girls. I brought my girls to the Pointe! to dance and learn from the best. We have gotten so much more. Gina, her staff, the parents and the kids have been like family to us. Being a single parent of three dancers can be a bit stressful and expensive. I remember one year was really rough and I was going in the office to pay my kids costume fees and I was told that someone had been so generous and paid for one. I broke down crying right there in the office. The person remains anonymous but they have no idea what that means to me. That’s just a portion of the contagious love floating around the pointe! They are my village. Gina and her staff challenges these children to be their best selves. To love themselves unapologetically and to show love to others. These kids are taught to encourage each other. Big, small, short, tall you too can be a great dancer. On top of that these kids are getting the best technique and choreography. Also being exposed to life changing opportunities. I don’t know if I said too much or not enough. All that I can say is the Pointe! Studio of Dance creates the total package of a great dancer. I am forever grateful for my experience as a parent. Love you guys!!" Keysha Walker
“Our family had the pleasure of being a member of “The Pointe! Studio of Dance Family” for over 13 years. Gina Tate has worked with my daughter Chelsea since the age of two before she branched out to open her own studio. The Pointe! Studio of Dance has always been known as a close “family” where children are welcomed to express themselves through all forms of genres of dance. Gina Tate and her phenomenal staff goes beyond teaching dance for all ages by providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the freedom and passion for dance. Dancing and training in such a rigorous dance company at the Pointe! Studio of Dance has afforded my daughter Chelsea to attend prestigious Summer Dance Intensive Programs such as: Alvin Ailey, Dance Theatre of Harlem and UNCSA. Gina Tate, Robin McGhie along with her staff also afforded Chelsea the opportunity for lead roles in the annual Wiz Dance Adaptation Productions, Annie Dance Adaptation Productions and National Theatre Festival. Dancing since the age of two, The Pointe! Studio of Dance has sparked a passion for dance with Chelsea and she is currently pursuing a career as a BFA Dance Major at Alabama State University, which is the only HBCU with a BFA Dance program. Chelsea was awarded full four-year academic and dance scholarship and plans to be one of the first BFA Dance student to graduate in the W.E.B. Du Bois Honors Program from ASU May 2020. The Pointe! Studio of Dance has made a huge impact and has been a life changing experience on Chelsea as a student and dancer. Gina Tate continues to dedicate her time and passion for her students by providing wonderful opportunities that aren’t always provided for African American children. We appreciate Gina Tate for her nurturing loving spirt and numerous years of dance training that she has provided Chelsea. May God continue to work through this vessel as she continues to see the “BEST” in all the children as they reach their fullest potential as an artist.” The Pettiford Family
"Family~ When my daughter and I discovered ThePointe!, as a parent, I was looking for a place for my daughter to feel that she belonged; a place where she felt comfortable enough to allow someone to show her that she needed to grow and cared enough about her to show her how to (properly). ThePointe! has been the perfect fit and to top it off, my family is treated like we matter and are important! From the office staff, to the teachers, even the owner, makes every effort to know each dancer and most importantly invest in their desire to perform in the arts (whether dance, acting or singing). The love shown through effective teaching, strong discipline & consistent practices grows dancers beyond the dance floor, allowing them to become greater in their everyday lives. The opportunities that my daughter has been afforded are beyond measure and encourages her to desire more out of dance and life in general. We are happy to call ThePointe! home as well as family; two words that are essential to a dancer and a productive individual in the arts and beyond!" Erica McNeil
"My experience at The Pointe! has been totally amazing. I am the mother of 3 girls and of course seeing each one of the stage was a must. My two oldest went to a different studio, but when I discovered The Pointe! my youngest had the experience of a lifetime. The instructors at The Pointe! focus on the “Whole” child. My daughter was so shy coming in and was still welcomed and encouraged beyond measure. The family at the studio met her where she was and built her confidence from there. She is now taking 3 classes and is excited each time we pull up to the studio. There is not a shy bone in her body now! In addition, my middle child has joined the acting department at the studio and loves every moment of it. Thanks so much for everything that you all have done for not only my children, but for the children across the entire community!" Marsena Jones
"The Pointe Studio! Of Dance has been an instrumental force in developing my daughters to be great dancers and positive young ladies for the past 13 years. This studio plays a part in developing girls beyond the four walls of the studio. They provide excellent training, mentorship, support, exposure to opportunities that would be nonexistent to young girls of color in the Greensboro area. They are totally invested in training your child to reach their highest potential as a dancer. My daughters had the opportunity to participate in over 7 productions that was of the highest caliber, because of their commitment and expertise. Their dancers thrive! It is evident when they audition for Intensives, schools and colleges. Their work speak for themselves. As a parent I have experienced 13 years of positivity, professionalism and commitment at The Pointe Studio! of Dance!" Audrey Anderson
